Hunter Region Botanic Gardens will be taking part in the GREAT AUSTRALIAN FUNGI HUNT!
The Great Australian Fungi Hunt is a nationwide citizen science bioblitz coordinated by Fungimap, Australia’s national fungi mapping organisation.
Happening every year, it invites the public to explore local environments, photograph native fungi, and upload their discoveries to iNaturalist to help map the country’s incredible fungal diversity.
Emeritus Professor Tim Robert will be here with a talk entitled “The hidden half of the planet – an introduction to fungi”.
Then join us as we go and hunt and photograph for fungi.
