Gardens Sculpture Prize 2012

The Gardens will hold its third annual Sculpture Prize in May 2012. Sculpture is an integral part of the Gardens, and we look forward eahc year to the opportunity to display a range of creative and interesting new works.

The Gardens Sculpture Prize is a Community Partnership event sponsored by Port Stephens Council as part of the Council's Cultural Projects Fund, 2011-12.

Entries are invited for the Gardens Sculpture Prize with works on display from Sunday 13th May until Sunday 10th June 2012. The Exhibition is to be in two sections, namely:

1. Outdoor exhibition featuring sculpture placed on the Eucalyptus Lawn and adjacent to the Visitors Centre. The winner will receive $1,000. This prize is sponsored by Port Stephens Council. Second prize $300.
2. Indoor exhibition with sculpture displayed within the Visitors Centre. Space is limited and entries may need to be selected by the curator. Maximum size strictly 60cm x 60cm x 60cm. Winner will receive $500, and second prize $300, sponsored by Port Stephens Council.

Prizes will include a Youth Award (13 to 18 years) with first prize $200 and second prize $100. The Youth prize may be either an outdoor or an indoor work.

The Exhibition will be opened and prize winners announced on Sunday 13 May 2012 at 1.00 pm.

Sculptors wishing to enter the Gardens Sculpture Prize 2011 should contact the Gardens as soon as possible to obtain an entry form. The closing date for receipt of the entry acceptance is Friday 13 April 2012.
