Boronia Garden

This small garden contains Australian members of the Rutaceae or "citrus" family. This is a world wide family and in Australia contains both rainforest and heath-like plants. In this collection, the shrubby heath plants, such as Boronia, Correa, Crowea, Phebalum, Philotheca and Eriostemon are growing, many of which are from the Hunter Region. Like their well known citrus relatives they have highly scented leaves and showy "star" flowers.

Opposite the Rutaceae bed is a small garden of Hunter region Hibbertia plants with bright yellow flowers in front of a bed of native plants from other areas in Australia.
